Tim Slack, Ph.D. candidate in Rural Sociology and CWFR Research Assistant, recently received a dissertation research award in the amount of $8,000 from the Rural Sociological Society. This award will enable Tim to conduct a telephone survey of family/household economic strategies in nonmetro Pennsylvania, with a particular emphasis on the intersection of formal and informal economic activities. The survey will be conducted through SSRI's Survey Research Center (SRC).
